Shrimp Baby Food is a powdered rearing food for ornamental shrimp that is rich in protein, containing zooplankton, natural vitamins, minerals and high levels of Omega 3 fatty acids, providing young shrimp with everything they need for healthy growth and delivering sufficient power and energy. The content of 100 ppm astaxanthin forms especially in red, yellow and orange shrimp, the color pigments cells from the beginning good, so they may show up in a blaze of color.

Newly hatched shrimp larvae need an ample range of different nutrients after their first molt (after hatching until the first molt they do not eat anything as they get their nutrients from their yolk sac).

Shrimp Baby Food contains all essential proteins and amino acids that are so important for healthy growth. Highly digestible carbohydrates and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) deliver the necessary energy for molting. Carefully chosen algae, vegetables and herbs supply the baby shrimps with micronutrients. Green-lipped mussels are well-known for their high content of glykosaminoglykans, which form a very valuable component of the shrimp carapace. The multivitamin mixture we have also added provides your shrimps with all the vitamins they need and prevents deficiencies. Vital minerals and trace elements are provided by a concentrate of red coralline algae containing over 50 different minerals and trace elements.

Shrimp Baby Food is a full extrudate. This manufacturing method guarantees high digestibility. All the nutrients contained in this food are highly bioavailable. The powdery micro granules form a fine filmlike layer on all the surfaces in the tank. This is necessary as baby shrimp are quite sessile in the beginning, which means that they usually remain in the place where they hatched and that the food has to come to them. If it doesn't, they risk starvation.

Shrimp Baby Food has been manufactured with the utmost care, it is a fully extruded and 100% conglomerated powdered food. Contains 100 ppm of astaxanthin for more brilliant colours.

GlasGatern ShrimpFit

GlasGatern ShrimpFit

Complementary feed for ornamental shrimps - ShrimpFit from GlasGarten is a special feed and immune booster for the rapid activation of the immune system. GlasGarten ShrimpFit improves the immune system and supplies your shrimp with nutritionally important active ingredients such as beta-glucans, mannan-oligosaccharides, minerals and chitin.

Shrimp have only an innate, so-called primitive immune system. This means that it can not "learn" with time and must defend itself again and again against the same "attackers". So if an infection with a particular opponent is over, it can attack again, the immune system of the shrimp does not recognize and the fight starts again.

The most common cases of bacterial infections in shrimp in aquariums are caused by non-pathogenic bacteria, that is, they are not pathogenic bacteria, but normal bacteria that live in every aquarium and every living thing. Unfortunately, these too can quickly lead to a problem, namely, when the immune system weakened and/or not quickly becomes active. A sleepy "guard" or a sluggish "fighting force" can be decisive for the fight.
So if you sets new shrimp/snails/fish in an aquarium in which already are shrimp, then are often not "diseases" transferred, but simply normal bacterial strains, who possibly are unknown for the living to Aquarium shrimp. Thus, the new bacteria can quickly settle in the shrimp, multiply rapidly and if the immune system is not fit enough, unfortunately often lead to deaths ...
In short, without an immune system, a shrimp is just a piece of meat that wants to be decomposed by bacteria. Alone the immune system prevents this, so it is so important to strengthen the immune system of the shrimp so that it can ward off optimal and keep the shrimp healthy. That alone is his job to be faster and stronger than opponents can spread. GlasGarten ShrimpFit supports this task, the ingredients act as immune boosters in various ways.

Salty Shrimp Bee Shrimp Mineral GH+

Regular price $42.00 Sale price $35.00

5 in stock

Bee-Shrimp Mineral GH+ has especially been developed for the keeping and breeding of bee shrimp, bumblebee shrimp and tiger shrimp in an aquarium, to mineralise RO water, rainwater, fully desalinated water etc. It raises the total hardness (°dH) without significantly influencing the carbonate hardness (KH). This is especially important for shrimp originating from softwater habitats (ratio of KH/°dH: 0.06/1.0).

Bee-Shrimp Mineral GH+ contains all the important minerals and trace elements your shrimp need for their well-being, an intensive colouration, successful breeding and healthy growth. It also furthers plant growth and the microbial regeneration of biological filter substrates. The danger of noxious bacteria is reduced, as these salts especially further the growth of antagonistic (beneficial) microflora.

Bee Shrimp Mineral GH+ does not influence the pH directly.
For keeping and breeding bee shrimp, aim for a pH of under 7. As soon as biological biodegradation processes start in your tank this may happen all by itself. However, if the pH remains higher, the low carbonate hardness (KH) enables you to influence the pH very easily, e.g. by the use of black alder cones or peat (both containing fulvic acids), or with pH-reducing additives.

Instructions of use
Mix with water outside of the aquarium. Bee-Shrimp Mineral GH+ dissolves almost completely within seconds, and the water is ready for use at once. Please make sure that any undissolved particles go into your tank, too. Close the container tightly after use.

Dosage
Use Bee-Shrimp Mineral GH+ to re-mineralise RO water, rainwater, fully desalinated water etc. to reach a total hardness of about 6 °dH and/or a conductance of about 200 +/- 50 µS (Microsiemens). For this purpose, an evenly full measuring spoon (about 3 g) to 20 litres of water is sufficient.
Measuring spoon enclosed.

Shrimp Mineral GH/KH+ has been especially designed for the preparation of neutral aquarium water for keeping and breeding shrimp. It re-mineralises e.g. RO water, rainwater, fully desalinated water etc., raising total hardness (°dGH) and carbonate hardness (KH) at a ratio of °dGH/KH: 1.0/0.5. Especially shrimp from habitats with a neutral pH do very well in water prepared with this mineral salt.

Shrimp Mineral GH/KH+ contains all the important minerals and trace elements your shrimp need for their well-being, an intensive colouration, successful breeding and healthy growth. It also furthers plant growth and the microbial regeneration of biological filter substrates.

Instructions of use
Mix with water outside of the aquarium. Shrimp Mineral dissolves almost completely within seconds, and the water is ready for use at once. Please make sure that any undissolved particles go into your tank, too. Close container after every use at once as this mineral salt absorbs moisture.

Dosage
Use Shrimp Mineral to re-mineralise RO water, rainwater, fully desalinated water etc. to reach a total hardness of about 6 °dGH and/or a conductance of about 300 +/- 50 µS (Microsiemens). For this purpose, an evenly full measuring spoon (about 2 g) to 10 litres of water is sufficient.
Measuring spoon enclosed.

100g is sufficient for approx. 500l of aquarium water.

Salty Shrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8,5 - 110g

Salty Shrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8,5 - 110g

Regular price $34.99

5 in stock

Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 was developed according to the results of a scientific analysis of water originating from the lakes of the Malili lake system on Sulawesi. It serves for mineralising RO water, rainwater, fully desalinated water etc. and requires some additional measures for fully dissolving. Water remineralised with this mineral salt will result in an almost exact copy of the water of Lake Towuti and a correspondingly high pH of 8.5, which also serves for greatly reducing pathogens.

Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 contains all important minerals and trace elements the well-known shrimp species from this region need for their health, wellbeing and colouration. This mineral salt furthers the microbial regeneration of biological filter substrates. It also reduces the danger of harmful germs as it enhances the formation of antagonistic microflora. Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 raises the carbonate and total hardness at a ratio of KH/°dH = 0.78/1.0.

Instructions of use
Add Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 to water outside of your aquarium. It will almost totally dissolve if CO2 is added for a few days. On regular CO2-Quantity (one bubble per second) the salt dissolved totally into approx. 3-4 days. If you use CO2 to dissolve the mineral salt, please make sure you aerate the water afterwards for at least three hours with an air stone in order to expel the CO2! Afterwards, the water is ready for use. We recommend adapting the temperature of the new water to that in your tank. Please make sure to add any undissolved particles to your tank, too. Close the container after use.

Dosage
RO water, rainwater, fully desalinated water etc. is remineralised with Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 until a hardness of around 7 °dH and/or a conductance of around 220 +/- 40 µS (Mikrosiemens) is reached. This corresponds to a slightly heaped measuring spoon (around 3 g) to 20 litres of water.
Measuring spoon included.

  • TANK STABILIZATION: Seachem Stability will rapidly and safely establish the aquarium biofilter in freshwater and marine systems, thereby preventing the #1 cause of fish death: "new tank syndrome".
  • TREATMENT: Stability is formulated specifically for the aquarium and contains a synergistic blend of aerobic, anaerobic, and facultative bacteria which facilitate the breakdown of waste organics, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate.
  • BACTERIA GROWTH: The necessary conditions for the growth of Stability's bacteria strains encompass a very broad range. When other bacteria begin to die off (usually from high organic loads caused by the unknown death of an organism), Stability simply becomes more effective.
  • SAFE: The bacteria employed by Stability are non-sulfur fixing and will not produce toxic hydrogen sulfide. Stability is completely harmless to all aquatic organisms as well as aquatic plants, thus there is no danger of overuse.

Directions:

Shake well before use. Turn off UV/ozone. Use 1 capful (5 mL) for each 40 L (10 US gallons) on the first day with a new aquarium. Then use 1 capful for each 80 L (20 US gallons) daily for 7 days. Fish and other aquatic species may be introduced at any time as long as the dosage is maintained for 7 days. For optimum biofilter performance use 1 capful for each 80 L (20 US gallons) once a month or with each water change and whenever introducing new fish or whenever medicating an aquarium. The product shelf life is 4 years from the date of manufacture.

Stability® should ideally be used in conjunction with biological filtration such as Seachem Matrix. For emergency ammonia control, use Seachem AmGuard.

Ammonia Alert® is an innovative color device for continuously detecting and monitoring toxic free ammonia. A sensor changes reversibly from yellow to green to blue, relative to the ammonia concentration. No test kits, chemicals, or procedures are needed. The device detects less than 0.05 mg/L (ppm) free ammonia and alerts you to the #1 killer before any sign of stress. It lasts over a year. This product is not recommended for use at acid pH. Marine or freshwater use.

In the absence of free ammonia the unit will assume a yellow or faint yellow-green color. It is normal for the dry sensor to have a greenish hue. It may take up to a few days for a dry sensor to equilibrate with the water. No sampling of water, chemicals, or test procedures are required. The presence of the free ammonia is detectable continuously with a response time of about 15 minutes. Response to decreasing ammonia is slower, requiring about 4 hours to go from TOXIC to SAFE on removal of ammonia.

Seachem Brackish Salt™ - Wet Habitat

Seachem Brackish Salt™

Regular price $13.99

2 in stock

Seachem’s Brackish Salt™ is a chemically sound blend of salts designed to replicate the native environment of live bearers and other brackish estuary fish without adversely impacting aquatic plants when used at regionally specific recommended dosage. The salt is also well suited for routine aquarium freshwater use. It does not impact pH or provide buffering.

Unlike other aquarium salts currently available to the hobbyist, Brackish Salt™ is more than just a simple sodium chloride product. These other salts can burn leaves and roots in a planted aquarium. However, Brackish Salt™ does not cause this type of damage, and actually provides many nutrients crucial to healthy plant growth. Dosing of Brackish Salt™ allows for specific duplication of different brackish water environments found worldwide (such as the waters of Sumatra or the waters of Borneo). Brackish Salt™ can also be dosed for general brackish water community aquariums and general freshwater community aquarium. Brackish Salt™ is a safe and effective alternative to the sodium chloride based aquarium salts so prevalent

Directions:

Use when setting up an aquarium and when making water changes. To add salt to an established tank, do so gradually. It is best to dissolve the salt in freshwater before use. Avoid using salt when simply replacing evaporated water.

  • For live bearers (such as guppies, swordtails, platies, some mollies), use 20 g (~1 tablespoon) for each 40 L (10 US gallons).
  • For estuary fish from the Yucatan or Sri Lanka (Archers, Chromides, some mollies), use 15 g (~2 teaspoons) for each 12 L (3 US gallons).
  • For estuary fish from Thailand, Cambodia, Borneo, or Sumatra (Datnioides), use 40 g (~2 tablespoons) per 12 L (3 US gallons).
  • For scats, use up to 80 g (~4 tablespoons) per 12 L (3 US gallons). This dose is not for planted aquaria.
  • For mixed populations, use an average dose, representative of species present. For specific information on your fish, check with your dealer or other reference source.
  • For general aquarium salt use (either for mineral replacement or disease control), use 20 g (~1 tablespoon) for each 40 L (10 US gallons).

Seachem Clarity™

Clarity™ is the ultimate clarifier for both fresh and saltwater. It employs an advanced polymeric flocculating agent that is both reef and plant safe. Clarity™ is the only clarifier on the market that does it all! Clarity™ will clear all types of clouding.

Many companies manufacture multiple products to clear up each type of cloudiness and each different environment (e.g. freshwater, marine, reef, etc.). Some companies have developed products that will clear most types of cloudiness, but their application requires two separate bottles of product. Clarity™ contains compounds that will clear all types of cloudiness in all environments.

Upon adding Clarity™ to the water, you will see a cloudy haze begin to form. This is normal and means that Clarity™ is beginning to work. The water is filled with tiny pieces of floating matter that were not visible to the naked eye. Clarity™ makes those pieces of matter begin to clump together. As they clump together they form larger pieces of matter that are now visible, hence the cloudiness. Once this matter has clumped together, it is a simple matter of mechanical filtration to remove the residue. Matter that was once too small to get caught in filter media is now in large enough clumps.

In order for Clarity™ to work effectively, you should have a filter with mechanical filtration (e.g., filter floss) connected to your aquarium.

Directions:

Use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 80 L (20 US gallons). In some situations the cloudiness may increase after adding Clarity™, however this is normal and is a sign that Clarity™ is actively working. Rapid clarification will follow (1–2 hours). In the case of chemical or particulate clouding clean filter floss or cartridge after tank clears.
