Aqua Soil Series
A high pH level (alkaline) of the substrate causes difficulties for aquatic plants in consuming nutrients. The Aqua Soil Series decreases the hardness of the water and lowers the PH level to the degree at which most aquatic plants can consume nutrients and comfortably grow. Aqua Soil granules maintain their shape and density for long periods underwater securing good circulation of water and oxygen through the substrate. With Aqua Soil, growing difficult plants such as Tonina sp. becomes easier, and it is ideal for fishes demanding soft water.
In addition to the original Aqua Soil Amazonia features, NEW Amazonia has been improved with the followings:
Amazonia makes aquarium water a bit acidic. Aqua Soil lowers pH and KH, and makes an idealistic environment for plants and fish.
New Amazonia contains rich organic acid and nitrogen level. Organic substances in the soil are effective for keeping shrimp in healthy condition.
Its pebbles are hard to crumble. The humic acid helps the plant growth, and hard-to-crumble pebbles do not cause water coloring/cloudiness.
Nutrition Capsules contain both nitrogen, phosphor, iron, and micronutrients. The nutrients are slowly released as the plants need them. Use Nutrition Capsules for stem plants, Cryptocoryne, Echinodorus, Vallisneria, etc. – all plants with sturdy roots.
Nitrogen, phosphor, iron, and manganese, as well as all vital micro nutrients, are released by the capsules over a period of 1-2 months. Place the capsules close to the roots of large solitary plants and plants with sturdy roots.
The capsules do not fully decompose and the small balls inside the capsules will remain in the substrate after all nutrients have been released. The balls are made of resin, which is biologically harmless.
Power Sand Basic is the power sand substrate that is what the Advance is based on. This product is perfect for smaller planted aquariums and is a first layer base substrate material designed for providing vital nutrients to the roots of aquatic plants. This excellent product also promotes ongoing growth of substrate bacteria. This very porous “sub” substrate media has a massive surface area which stimulates good water circulation, and organic nutrients to promote the growths of multi-strains of bacteria. Power Sand Basic is really not "that basic after all"; rich with BACTER 100 and Clear Super, this ecellent product will jump start any small planted aquarium to higher standard!
The Power Sand is a vital part of the ADA Substrate System that is famous the world over. Utilizing just the Amazonia Soils is only ½ of the method of success. With ADA Power Sand, the substrate has a maximum potential for water and nutrient circulation which carries oxygen to stimulate bacterial activity and the development of the plant roots. This is the ideal condition of a healthy substrate, in order to establish a balanced ecosystem.
In other soils or substrates, persistent problems occur with the passage of time. Water circulation is obstructed with buildup and anaerobic activity starts to occur, thus rotting the roots of the plants. The mixed size substrate with Power Sand at the bottom secures good water circulation due to the multiple shapes and sizes of the granules. Even when aquatic plants have been growing for long periods and waste matter accumulates, Power Sand maintains proper water circulation.
Jungle Soil is a substrate material suitable for growing plants in paludarium. Because natural black soil is used as the base combined with soil microorganisms effective for the plant growth and some anthracites, plant roots spread well, and healthy plants grow. Please use this product combined with optional Jungle Base.
Jungle Base is a substrate material to be spread on the bottom of aquarium tanks where water tends to be stagnant in paludarium. Pumice is used as the base for Jungle Base combined with soil microorganisms effective for the plant growth and charcoal powder which maintains breathability in the substrate and prevents plant root rot. Please use it with optional Jungle Soil.
Bottom Plus refines the leaf color of aquatic plants with vigorous nutrient absorption from the roots, since it is particularly fortified with the nitrogen and iron contents that tend to be deficient in the substrate kept for a long-term. Also, as it is produced from the same natural soil as the raw material of Aqua Soil, the stick never remains in the substrate.
TROPICAL RIVER SOIL, made from natural soil, is a substrate material ideal for aquarium and terrarium. It makes the aquarium water mildly acidic for aquatic plant and fish.
This substrate material reproduces a tropical atmosphere with exposed red soil. It proposes a new idea of “cosmetic soil.”
Due to the nature of the base soil, the granular shape stays for a long period, and it also lowers pH level. Bacter Ball is a sphere shape substrate additive made from Bacter 100. You can place it on the substrate and inside the biological filtration system. It helps keeping healthy condition of fish and shrimp nibbling on Bacter Ball.
Iron Bottom is a stick of nutrients with balanced formula of trace elements and coated iron. It is recommended for the growth of Echinodorus and Cryptocoryne, which mainly absorb nutrients from the roots.
